If you want to experience the Canadian culture and nature, or if you’d like to improve your French or English language skills, you should consider staying in Canada for a couple weeks. For this, you might need a temporary residency visa or simply and electronic authorization – this will depend on the country where you are from.
Depending on your country of residence, you might have an opportunity to join a Work and Study program or even a Work program.
So the first thing you have to decide is what you’re actually going to do while in Canada. If you want to visit or study for up to 6 months, you’ve got to apply for an e-TA or Visa, depending on your country of citizenship.
If you’d like to stay longer, engaged for example in a long-term study program, you will need a study permit.
For both study and visit, you can apply to extend your stay if you’ve decided to stick around a little longer.
